I am a newly appointed Government Servant and I have gone through the harrowing experience of getting a job fighting competitors of equal merit, having access to equal resources but miles ahead of me in securing a Govt. Job. I on behalf of all unemployed youths of west bengal support this movement. WE WANT COMPLETE ABOLITION OF ALL QUOTAS. We will see the end of this.This is the first time that the youth have garnered a movement out of their own interest and not backed by a political party.

I have a suggestion. The next time we hold a protest march, let us walk up to the embassies of the US, UK, European countries and even pakistan and china, and submit a memorandum to them saying we need asylum in their countries as we are being prosecuted in our own. We will pledge to serve our adopted country in the best way possible subject to the only condition that we be granted the dignity that is being snatched away from us now .
Very good suggestion there atlas. the way things are going we may need to do that very soon.

Dear sirs/madams/friends/brothers/sisters
Reservation- is a privillege/help and NOT RIGTH AT ALL
I am an Indian and so I want to fulfill my responsibilities of an Indian. So, I joined your rally both on Saturday and Sunday and after mind-boggling with hundreds of my friends, relatives, elder people etc. I have worked on to find out the demands that people are really looking for. I hope that you poeple will really read my points, discuss them and wil try to work on these since these have been supported by hundreds of people and these are really good. I am very much sure that you will not be able to turn down even a single suggestion.
I request you to please forward the suggestions to all doctors who are supporting our movement, members of Youth For Equality etc.because we are really short of time.

RESERVATION- A CURSE – A CRIME AGAINST INTELLIGENCE AND TALENT
Please make the demand that the following things should be done by the Government before passing of any bill:
1. A Review Committee to assess the impact of exisitng quota. Also, since initially the quota for SC/ST was introduced for 10 years then why is it continuing even after 60 years and thus it should be scrapped. And also if it has done no good even after 60 years then why is it continuing and if it has served its purpose then also there is no logic in continuing it. Also, the reasons should br found out if it has not served its
purpose.
2. Quota if any to be provided then it should be based on socio-economic status and not on caste.
3. Quota should also be provided to weaker section of upper caste on basis of same % on which they are offering to other people.
4. A fresh population survey to determine weaker socio-economic people and the criteria of such basis to be determined. (you can also refer to census of 1999 for population and page 3 of The Times of India of 22.05.06 for dropouts to see actually how many reserved category reaches higher education level. Census should be done to determine number of general and reserved category people who reaches higher education level)
5. Law already passed by Supreme court that who apply through quota should be adjusted against quota only.
6. If qouta seats remain vacant then they should be filled from general people on merit basis and should not be wasted.
7. Quota in Parliament if they really want to give quota : Because then general people supporting quota will also demand this and Govt. will get divided. (Govt. is very much divided on passing Women Reservation Bill)
8. MPs supporting quota should pledge that they and their family members should be treated by Quota Doctors only ( OR you people pledge that you will not treat such MPs and their family members.
9. Quota should not be continued be provided to people if any member of reserved families become well off like: Lalu Yadav, Sharad Yadav, IASs, IPSs, Doctors, Engineers, rich people etc.
10. MP who has called you desh-drohis and asked for prosecution should resign so that no one in future dare to do so. Also assert that all MPs still supporting reservation are desh-drohis because they have divided and are still widening the gap between people supporting this and who are against this.
11. 2 child norm: Reservation should be given only to those parents who are having max. 2 children. Because quota people in general have 8-10 children and thus they will always remain backward and this is not MISTAKE of general people who aor having 1-2 children.
12. Percentage and number BOTH should be maintained and seats to be increased before implementation of quota: Beacause otherwise in future MPs will again say that % to be maintained and thus General people will again stand to lose. What about new colleges and universities that will be set up in future? (Also refer to interviw given by directorof IIMs)
13. Future policy about phasing-out of qoata: If govt. at present is not setting a Review Committee then what’s guarantee about future.
14. Limited concesion in marks: Those from reserved category should be allowed only a limited conscession in marks in admission but no concession in passin like :5-10% as compared to general people. What has happened in the past should not happen again like: a person getting 6/600 becoming doctor, a person getiing 0 becoming engineer as told by directors of IITs, AIIMS etc.
15. Doctors to dispaly whether selected through quota: Life and body are very precious. So, people should be given a chance to decide whether they like to be performed by in-effecient people.
16. Start door-to-door campaign- WE ARE REALLY SHORT OF TIME.
A few more suggestions as a an Indian
1. ONLY you people are being harassed by Govt. because they see if they can suppress you then the movement will come to an end: You people should try to solicit support across the country by asking othet people also to observe strike. This will divide the pressure imposed by Govt.
- Ask BANK people to observe indifinte strike. If they can fight for Rs. 2000-3000 p.m. pension can’t they fight for OUR MOTHERLAND’s and their own children future. Hold meetings with the presidents of different associations.
- Similarly, meet presidents of other associations like: traders, railways, power co.s, water bodies, etc.
2. Try to solicit support of INDUSTRIALIST LOBBY (now Meira Kumar is threatening a law for reservation in Pvt. sector as well). Remember, if reservation gets implemented in education then it will also get implemented in Pvt. Sector. So, if they get convinced and support you, then nothing can save govt, from rolling this back.
- Some industrialists who are very strongly against this are: Rahul Bajaj, Nandan Nilekani, Azim Premji, Tushar Gandhi, Ratan Tata
- So, please meet them and presidents of associations like : FICCI, CII, ASSOCHAM etc.
- They can also come forward to counter Govt. by offers like: opening pvt. hospitals for you people. Also, they can provide you accomdation after you people leave hotels on ORDER by Govt. from where you can continue.
3. If you people really want to criticize then criticize entire govt. and not only Arjun Singh. Because seeing this some MPs might come in urs support.
4. Ask people if these MPs really represent us then how can it happen that 60% i.e., 70 crores people are against this and only 1 one MP is opposing reservation. This is not democracy. MPs are not representing us but serving their own interest.
5. At time of British also, we were divided kept quite and thus those handful of people rules for around 175 years. Is today also we will keep quite and allow these 543 people appointed by us to do whatever they want to and ruin OUR future.
6. Attack MPs by asking for that there should be some criteria for their selection also because these illeterate and criminal-backgrounded people cannot serve nation and us. (Even a conductor of DTC bus should be gradaute. No CS, CWA, CA, engineer etc can be of criminal background but what about these netas)
7. Appeal to new and defence doctors not to respond to govenrment’s order in the best interest of the society.
8. Legal cell: Have a legal cell which can give you instant advice on notices and steps taken by Govt.
9. Political party: (Justice maangne se nahin chheene se milta hai, maangne se sirf bheekh milti hai- you should have power to have justiceIf some of you people are really worried about reservation then why don’t some of you people come up with the idea of launching some political party because you people have got presene all over India and since you people are fighting for JUSTICE you will get support of all doctors and people favouring justice. You can also convince people because of yours all over India presence and rapport with Govt. OR you can threat Govt. by pledging that you and yours’ relatives & patients will support MPs who are anti-Reservation. Govt. is already losing Muslim votes so they can’t even afford to lose General people votes.
10. Strike: You can also call-off strike and go back to work BECAUSE Govt. can’t force you to see patients as well or you can even see less patinets by spending more time with some patients since yours profession very much depends on JUDGEMENT.
11. Live telecast of discussion with 543 MPs from parliament so that entire country can see and understand the logic of these politicians.
12. Also we are weak because we are not having any organisation for Youth For Equality. Please try to convince our supporters to establish a NATIONAL organisation with - State wise presence so that we can have our movement in ONE DIRECTION UNDER ONE BANNER. Have a national President, Vice-president, Secreatry and same AT STATE LEVEL also. I am sure a movement under one leadership is always successful

We want to co-ordinate our efforts with yours in Mumbai and Delhi. Guys please dont give up it still not a law, we are with you all the way.We can also generate funds for this cause if need be. I think this brave effort by you all should be supplemented by some more pressure from the seniors of our country.My proposals are:
1.The Professors,Senior faculty members and senior Doctors/Nurses and other senior persons who are nearing their retirements and wouldn't loose much by taking an early retirement should submit their resignation.
2.Their should be an organization/trust where we from outside can send monetary help directly by bank to bank transfer.
3.It is inevitable that these antinational political parties are going to dilute the education system,so those who are outside the purview of reservation and are capable(merit+financially)should try to go outside the country after class 12 so that the others,who will be excluded from getting into higher education(because of poverty)can get in these institutions.
4.The trust resposible for collecting the money can setup a scolarship for the affected students who are poor and could'nt afford higher education in or outside the country.
We should all remember that we are living in a country which is giving us a status of second class citizenship like the Jews in Hitler's Germany.So we must remain united and honest to each others.
